Costanza Porro

I am a Lecturer in Political Philosophy at the department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion of the University of Lancaster. I am also carrying out a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship which I started at MANCEPT, the Centre for Political Theory of the University of Manchester, in October 2022.
My research interests are at the intersection between moral, legal, political and feminist philosophy with a particular focus on theories of equality, the philosophy of vulnerability, the ethics and politics of care and the philosophy of criminal punishment.
Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Hamburg. I completed my doctorate at the Dickson Poon School of Law of King’s College London, where I also obtained an MA in Philosophy. I hold a BA in Philosophy from the University of Pavia.
